Crossbones Dog Academy is a leading dog training & daycare facility, known for our unique Puppy Day School program which combines play and positive training for puppies. We’re a team of dog trainers and support staff committed to using positive reinforcement with dogs and with each other. We value communication, teamwork, and professional growth. Our daycare program is closed on weekends and federal holidays.

We’re growing! As a result, we’re looking for a full-time dog daycare attendant (32-40 hours per week) to supervise playgroups, care for dogs, and keep our facility clean and welcoming.

Role:

  • Take excellent care of our clients’ dogs.
  • Take excellent care of our clients.
  • Clean and maintain our 8000 square foot dog training & daycare facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise playgroups of 3-15 dogs (indoors and outdoors, in all weather), either solo or with another attendant (1 staff member per 10 dogs in playgroup)
  • Use positive reinforcement to reward good behavior, and gently redirect undesirable behavior
  • Capture photos and videos of dogs at play for our social channels
  • Clean up after dogs, prepare and distribute meals and food-dispensing toys, and provide individual potty breaks
  • Update behavior reports and communicate observations to the team
  • Help keep our facility clean and organized
  • Work closely with the team in person, via walkie talkies, and through Slack for seamless care and support

Requirements: 

  • At least 12 months of employment history (management references required; dog training/daycare experience strongly preferred)
  • Availability for full-time (8 to 10 hour) shifts, Monday through Friday, between 6:40AM-6:30PM
  • Consistent punctuality; must arrive on time for each scheduled shift
  • Maintain a strong attendance record, as consistent presence is critical for the safety and well-being of the dogs
  • Strong communication skills and a positive attitude

Crossbones Dog Academy is a dog training & daycare facility with a unique Day School program that combines daycare and training for dogs and puppies. At this time, we are looking for a full-time Daycare Lead (40 hours per week) to manage our Educational Daycare program. Interested candidates must be available Monday through Friday, 6:40AM to 6:30PM (shift hours will vary). Our daycare program is closed on weekends and federal holidays.

Role:

  • Maintain current Educational Daycare client relationships and implement successful retention strategies.
  • Take excellent care of our clients’ dogs and coach our Daycare Attendants to do the same.
  • Oversee the cleaning and maintenance of our 8000 square foot dog training & daycare facility.

Responsibilities:

The Daycare Lead provides supportive leadership & coaching of Daycare Attendants and meets regularly with them to discuss their performance, as well as meeting with ownership to discuss progress. The Daycare Lead is responsible for personally completing, or managing the employees who complete, the following tasks:

  • Correspond with daycare clients via email, text, & phone
  • Upsell enrichment activities & service add-ons
  • Monitor department growth & establish methods for improvement
  • Supervise playgroups of 2-10 dogs (solo) or 11-15 dogs (with another crew member)
  • Train dogs of all ages to participate constructively in off-leash dog play
  • Train dogs of all ages in basic manners using clicker training & positive reinforcement
  • Potty train dogs by implementing a successful training & management plan
  • Provide enrichment activities to dogs
  • Take photos & videos of dogs to create social media content
  • Complete & deliver report cards to every client participating in the program
  • Oversee & participate in facility cleaning & maintenance

Requirements: 

  • 1 (minimum) year employment experience supervising & caring for multiple dogs, owned by multiple people, at a time. (Such as veterinary, dog boarding kennels, dog daycare, & group dog walking.)
  • 2 (minimum) years full-time employment in previous roles
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of, or commitment to learning, clicker training & positive reinforcement based, LIMA (least invasive, minimally aversive) dog training protocols
  • Punctuality & reliability
  • Highly organized & able to keep track of multiple things at once
  • Self-driven & proactive nature
  • Familiarity with email, internet, and iOS
  • Excellent written & oral communication skills
  • Passion for exceptional customer service
  • Management or leadership experience
  • A commitment to continuing education
