Dog Daycare Attendant – Full-Time

Monday-Friday | 9AM-5:30PM

Crossbones Dog Academy is a dog training & daycare facility with a unique Day School program that combines daycare and training for dogs and puppies. At this time, we are looking for full-time experienced dog daycare attendants (35-40 hours per week) to supervise playgroups, take care of dogs, and clean and maintain the facility. Interested candidates must have consistent daytime availability every weekday, Monday through Friday. Shifts are 9AM-5:30PM. 

This person would supervise groups of dogs solo (3-10 dogs) or with one other attendant (10-15 dogs), indoors and outdoors, in all weather and temperatures. During playgroups, tasks include cleaning up after the dogs, rewarding dogs for good behavior, gently but firmly interrupting and redirecting dogs engaging in undesirable behavior, taking pictures and videos of the dogs for social media content. Outside of playgroups, tasks include updating reports on dogs’ behavior, filling food-dispensing toys and distributing them to dogs, taking dogs outside for individual potty breaks, and cleaning the facility.

Our team members participate in open and frequent communication in person, over walkie talkies, and digitally through Slack. We’re looking for someone we can rely on, a new team member who works hard, has strong communication skills, and who loves dogs AND people. Are you our next team member?

Candidates for the Dog Daycare Attendant position must have at least one year of employment history and be able to provide references from previous and/or current jobs.

The ideal candidate for this position would have…

  • 1+ year experience supervising off-leash dog play
  • Pet First Aid/CPR certification
  • Experience using clicker training and positive reinforcement dog training
  • A commitment to continuing education

Pay is hourly, commensurate with experience and qualifications, and starting at $16+ per hour plus benefits.

Dog Training Coordinator – Full-Time

Monday-Friday | 10AM-6:30PM

Crossbones Dog Academy is a dog training & daycare facility with a unique Day School program that combines daycare and training for dogs and puppies. At this time, we are looking for a full-time Dog Training Coordinator (40 hours per week) to work with our clients and potential clients. Interested candidates must have consistent daytime availability every weekday, Monday through Friday. We are hiring one team member to work 10AM-6:30PM. 

This role primarily involves working with customers. This may be in person, over the phone, via text message, or via email. The Dog Training Coordinator is responsible for knowing our services inside and out and being able to confidently close sales of dog training programs. Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must. Other duties include registering clients for classes and lessons, scanning and filing paperwork and contracts, picking online retail store orders, ringing up customers for in-person sales, tidying up the retail area, and other tasks as assigned. The Dog Training Coordinator is also in frequent contact with vet offices for vaccinations and health records. When front desk tasks are complete, Dog Training Coordinators pitch in with cleaning the facility, moving dogs throughout the facility, and taking photos for social media. This is NOT a “desk job!”

The ideal candidate for this position would have…

  • 1+ year employment experience working with customers through in-person, phone, and email correspondence
  • Experience with animals, such as through volunteer work, 4-H, FFA
  • Interest in clicker training and positive reinforcement dog training

Pay is hourly, commensurate with experience and qualifications, and starting at $17+ per hour plus benefits. Once onboarding is complete (after 90 days), there are opportunities to earn bonuses for reaching sales goals.

Retail Specialist – Full-Time

Tuesday-Friday | 9:30AM-6:30PM & Saturday 9AM-1PM

Crossbones Dog Academy is a dog training & daycare facility with a unique Day School program that combines daycare and training for dogs and puppies. At this time, we are looking for a full-time Retail Specialist (40 hours per week) to grow our retail store. Interested candidates must have consistent availability for the hours listed. The Saturday shift is a must; we do have flexibility on the weekday off. 

This role primarily involves working with customers. This may be in person, over the phone, via text message, or via email. Retail Specialists are a friendly face, greeting our daycare and training clients when they arrive for their appointments and checking them in. They are responsible for knowing our retail store products inside and out and being able to confidently sell them to customers. Retail Specialists collaborate with our brand reps and vendors to create promotions for our customers, plan sales and events, and assist management with social media campaigns.

Retail Specialists also assist Customer Service Specialists with phone calls, texts, and emails about our training services. Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must. Other duties include registering clients for classes and lessons, scanning and filing paperwork and contracts, picking online retail store orders, ringing up customers for in-person sales, tidying up the retail area, and other tasks as assigned. When the store is empty, Retail Specialists pitch in with cleaning the facility, moving dogs throughout the facility, and taking photos for social media. This is NOT a “desk job!”

  • Interest in clicker training and positive reinforcement dog training

Pay is hourly, commensurate with experience and qualifications, and starting at $17+ per hour plus benefits. For candidates with store management experience, a bonus structure for reaching sales goals will be discussed.
