New Year’s Day Agility Rookie Camp

This focused 4-hour seminar is designed for dogs who have completed our Dog Sport Fundamentals class, or for young dogs with owners who have previously competed in dog agility. This seminar will build on the foundation skills your dog has already developed, setting the stage for a bright future in dog agility!
What will we work on?
- Focus forward
- Start-line stays
- Growing tunnels from 6’ to full length/curved tunnels
- Growing baby tire (no frame) to real tire (frame)
- Toy play
- Growing cone wraps: multi-wraps, distance, adding a cue, sequencing
- Intro front crosses/blind crosses
- Growing Reinforcement Zone with acceleration & deceleration
- Crate Games for growing distance, commitment, & teaching new skills
Each activity will be scaled to meet each dog’s current level of training – don’t worry about being “ahead” or “behind!”
Prerequisites
Teams must have completed Dog Sport Fundamentals or have permission from Katherine to attend.
Appropriate for puppies ages 12+ weeks as well as adults.
Dogs must be able to crate quietly when it is not their turn to work. There will be periods of lecture, individual teams working while others watch, and group training, as well as a brief mid-camp break.
